Max gets married
...just kidding! Actually Max went to his first wedding ceremony last week, a full Catholic mass celebrating the marriage of our great friends Meghan and Erik. He was a little embarrassed for being underdressed at the church, but played it cool regardless. He got to hang out with his friend Lisa during the reception while Mommy and Daddy got to pretend they were childless again for a few hours.

The Buckeye State
Max got to visit his friends and family in the big O-H-I-O this past weekend! We all had a good time hanging out at the Goslin homestead, hiking at Black Hand Gorge, having a bonfire, going to a fair in Gainesville, visiting the Lewises, and going to Josh and Alex's for dinner. Here are some pics and a video.
The car ride was a little rough for our cranky boy, and when we got home on Monday night we realized why. He had a fever of 101.3! This is when having a pediatrician daddy really helped out, as Anthony calmed down a worried Momma and helped Max get some rest (after handing the rectal thermometer duties). The poor sick boy has been a crabby mess since we got home.

Go Steelers!
Of course we had to get together with our Pittsburgh transplant friends Mike and Sam to watch the Steeler's season opener with the kids Sunday night. It wasn't such a good game (well, the Steelers lost), but it was fun to continue our tradition with a new addition to the party. At this rate, every year we're adding a new Steeler fan to the mix! 2011- Lisa, 2012- Max, 2013-....? I think its back to Mike and Sam for that one!
Blog posts will be coming about our adventures in the world of cloth diapering (including cute pics of Max with his reusable diapers on!) and our not so fun adventures in the world of the Ferber method. Stay tuned!

Vacation part two
The second part of our trip was spent between Washington, PA (visiting
my mom and aunts, uncles, and cousins) and Erie, PA (visiting Anthony's
family and celebrating his true birthday). In Washington, we went into
Pittsburgh area a few times to hike around at South Park and, of course,
to visit Ikea for cute baby items (hello giant broccoli stuffed animal
friend!). We also visited a lot of family and friends who haven't yet
gotten to meet Sir Maxwell. In Erie, our fabulous MIL watched Max so
Anthony and I could bike ride around the peninsula (ugh, out of shape
mama!), and we also went to the Yacht Club for a nice birthday dinner.
He loved his present of a new Ipad!
Hi Uncle Geo and Aunt Toni! |
Montreal with a 3 month old!
Hi all! Sorry for the lack of awesome Max updates lately, but we've been too busy having adventures, introducing Max to his family members, and driving all over the creation to have much time to post. Now that we're back in the ROC, things are settling down and I can share some of the fun we've had.
The first part of our trip was spent in Montreal as an early celebration for Anthony's 30th bday. We rented a VRBO apartment which turned out to be a great find. It was walking distance to Jean Talon Market (a large, awesome farmer's market), and only a block from the Metro station. We checked out the Old Port in Old Montreal, went to the archeological museum Pointe-a-Calliere (which had a really interesting basement exhibit of the first Montreal settlements, with the real ruins you could view), toured the Montreal Botanical Gardens, pushed Max around various neighborhoods in his stroller, and ate at a lot of little outdoor cafes. It was definitely a different experience taking a baby on a vacation (i.e., more work, less vacation), but overall we had a great time!
